Spend the spring trimester in Jefferson City, MO as an intern with a Missouri state legislator or senator. Selected intern candidates retain full-time Northwest student status. Tuition costs are deducted from a $3,000 stipend.
This Internship program begins in early January when the legislative session convenes and finishes in mid-May with a flurry of activity. Students can receive up to 12 credit hours of college credit and be eligible for one of four $3,000 stipends to assist with living expenses in Jefferson City. This internship is open to all majors. Past interns have used this network as a gateway to a career. Four $3,000 stipends will be available each spring semester. The selection committee reviews applications and conducts interviews in the fall semester.
